Anyone got this running on Xi? I am confused because nearly 6 months
ago as an HBO subscriber I put it on my Android tablet. Now I see an ap
is available on Xi and clicking it on trying to activate it I am sent a
code to put into my computer and it says I am connected but still Xi ap
does not work. Comcast ad says if you have HBO than HBO Max is
available for free.

Might also mention that Comcast is holding firm on prices. We just
re-upped for a couple of years but are paying more. Wife will not play
games like neighbor across the street that takes initial offers
switching every year or so between FIOS and Comcast.

I don't like the idea of switching either.
For me and my condo I live in, Verizon equipment is horribly sub standard. I mean they put the internet over the phone line thus requiring
a splitter to pull the internet off so the phone is alone. But it's poor and either the phone or internet suffer.

Nice size condo complex of some 12 buildings and each building has 16 condos. Of the 16 in my building I'm told only 2 people use Verizon.
And a Verizon tech told me this.

Our neighborhood has underground Comcast cable and Verizon FIOS and I
have connections of both to my house. We had FIOS put in when they got
rid of copper landlines. I had two phones on FIOS but switched one to
Comcast triple play and got rid of the other one when company I had
consulted for and paid the phone no longer needed me. So I could
readily switch but have always had a dislike for the old phone company
and shoddy treatment from their old monopoly days.

When I had the FIOS land lines they billed like old land line and a long
distance carrier was also required. Caller id, call block were extras
you would have to pay for. Verizon was constantly pestering me to pick
up all their services. I said I would if they would guarantee their
starting offer would persist for years.

Thanks but does not help. Something screwy as HBO and HBO Max each cost
about $15/mo separately. I think with HBO Max you get everything on HBO
so you do not need both. Comcast calling it a 3rd party ap also means
they get a cut (surcharge) as they do for Netflix on X1.

What does you current bill say about HBO/HBO MAX, if anything, in the TV
items specified in the "Regular Monthly Charges" section of the bill?
If it says you are supposed to be receiving HBO MAX, use the toilet, sit
down in a comfortable chair with a glass or mug of your favorite
beverage, and call Comcast's customer service number specified in the
"By Phone" listing in the "Contact" section of your bill to get
assistance (hopefully!).

We pay for HBO as a component of our Comcast TV services, not as a
stand-along subscription. For the better part of this past year, our
monthly bill showed that we were getting HBO MAX. However, when we
navigated to either the Apps or the Networks section of the On Demand
menu area and clicked on the HBO MAX icon, the screen would display
information that HBO MAX is coming soon to X1, but that for the present,
it could be watched on line or using iOS or Android apps. That was
accurate. About one week ago, we saw a notification in the settings
(gearwheel) area of our cable box menu that HBO MAX was now available on
X1. After that, when we navigated to the HBO MAX icon, the screen
refreshed to say that we were being connected to a third party
application, after which HBO MAX was displayed with no message that we
need to subscribe. Works for us now. Good luck!

I didn't realize that Comcast had made available an HBO Max app on the
X1 platform until reading this thread, but had been using a sideloaded
apk for Android on our Fire TV devices for awhile before switching to
the legit HBO Max app for Fire TV once it was released. I also
installed the HBO Max app on our Android phones. I can report that
linking the HBO Max apps on both Fire TV and Android devices to our
Comcast account worked without any issues.

I am still stymied and may call Comcast. I follow instructions on
tablet to get it to X1 but says OK but still gives instructions and not
access. I already had it on the tablet.
